Judas in the Punalty Box //N&R
As far as Ruby was concerned, there were three glaring acts of betrayal throughout her life that she would never, ever get over. Sure, she may have forgiven them, at least enough to maintain a healthy relationship, but the deeds would never be forgotten. And Ruby would always have that lingering doubt at the back of her mind wondering when would they strike next.
Number one, of course, was when she was four years old and Yang had eaten her cookie during snack time when she’d gone to the bathroom. Her cookie! Even nineteen years later, Ruby was still on her guard around the blonde when cookie were involved.
Number two, the day Zwei chose Weiss over her. It had been a great day early on in their friendship. They spent it studying, pausing only to eat a light lunch together, and not once had Weiss called her on the lingering stare. Then in walked the furry backstabber, stubby little tail wagging as he panted, who despite her calling to him walked right over to the older girl, laying down with his head in her lap.
And now number three, the ultimate betrayal! Two of her teammates, her friends, had signed up for an opposing team in this years Olympics! Blake was bad enough, finding out she’d be competing against her bestie had been heartbreaking, but at least the goalie had had the decency to tell her in person, even if it was by accident.
But Nora? Finding out during opening ceremony when the lineups were revealed and no Valkyrie was listed under the Yen Sid hockey team? Unforgivable! Nora’d gone and signed up with the enemy and hadn’t even had the good form to warn her ahead of time. She was hurt, crushed even! And standing outside her fellow redhead’s apartment, banging on the door, Ruby was prepared to let her know it!
“Nora!!”
