I recently had my engagement ring resized (as it is almost my 25th wedding anniversary I thought it was time to so I can wear it again). Anyway, my engagement ring is platinum and it got me wondering if there are any platinum tiara's out there?
Congratulations! Platinum was very popular in the first half of the 1900s but white gold seems to be more popular now. I assume because white gold is cheaper than platinum. There are some gold or silver tiaras were the metal is the focus with fewer gemstones but I haven’t seen any like that with platinum, again that probably because it’s more expensive. Here’s a few platinum tiaras but there are a lot of them.
Crown Princess Margaret of Sweden's Khedive of Egypt Tiara - Cartier, 1905
Dame Margaret Greville’s Honeycomb Tiara - Boucheron, 1921
Countess of Bessborough's Diamond Tiara - Chaumet, 1931
Queen Nazli of Egypt's Diamond Tiara - Van Cleef & Arpels, 1939
Grand Duchess Josephine Charlotte of Luxembourg's Belgian Scroll Tiara - Coosemans, 1953
“Queen Nazli was so realistically beautiful and I've always loved her vibe. I don't know what it is but she just screams "Queen of Egypt" and "queen of the 20s". and if i could have any tiara, it would definitely be hers. Weird to think her descendants didn't even know her status or how cool she was until discovering a fur coat in a closet that said "Queen Nazli". 😱” - Submitted by Anonymous
