it’s more of a translation thing that anything because anime characters use “daisuki” to explain their love and thats the kind of “i like it/you” type of thing, while LOVE as in deep love is “aishiteru” so when youre watching just kinda listen to see which you hear. most will be daisuki which is more as like than love
Ah, that makes sense, I’ll have to keep an ear out for that. I’m uncertain of the difference between ‘suki’ and ‘daisuki’ though, I had ‘daisuki’ pegged as platonic love, as one would have for a sandwich or a Van Halen album; and ‘suki’ as the traditional concept of romantic love.
