I mean the ending being rushed is one thing but they spend like more than half the show building towards idk a critical moment, and then they just skip it completely. It feels like they just didn't think they could do it justice cause they built it up so much. And then you go into yknow what you mentioned. The second half of the show, I do actually like more, but again they build it up and then just snap it off ineffectually.
I do yknow like the anti imperialist messaging, but I also feel like its executed better by other shows. VOTOMs I love, and I've been meanin to watch Dougram forever but have not. Its cool finding out that you also know about this stuff dreamer
Oh yeah that's a super fair assessment, yeah! I agree with you, I must note that my tag shouting out Layzner and Dougram was just that and not really putting them on the same level as VOTOMS, hehe. Layzner does have payoff problems, it's true, though I do love the sense of speed and tension they manage to put in combat, especially when going from the ground high speed combat of VOTOMS into more aerial circuses!
I'm a huge mecha fan, yeah! I don't talk about it often nowadays but I used to post about it a lot, and got a lot of my friends here into SRW, Gundam, some into VOTOMS, and FMP (and one into GaoGaiGar >:) ), my tastes are patently Boomer but I do like modern shows too, it's just less a priority nowadays compared to when I was full on mechabrained 24/7, haha.
