This is a Facebook memory from 2016. When I made this post I still operated the Tax Office out of the 926 E Tremont location, and I hadn’t owned a passport as of yet ( 😱 ) I had gone on to own my 2nd business, and I felt accomplished, but in this picture I was silently out growing my old skin. I was tired of wasting money on outfits, drinks, and $200 nail art. Something at my core was nagging at me that there was more to life than VIP guest lists and expensive brunches. I knew that somewhere in the world there was someone telling a different story than the ones that I had heard a million times. I knew that there were struggles deeper than poverty, single parent homes, overcrowded apartments, pissy hallways, and police brutality. I knew that somewhere in the world there were people with voices that weren’t being heard, who weren’t inflicting pain on themselves- and who are genuinely seeking nothing in exchange for their testimony. I knew that all across the world the story was not the same- so I unplugged the TV, and vowed to stop viewing the news, and start questioning the world on my own. Since I’ve gotten my passport I’ve never stopped chasing the story. I’ve never stopped asking questions and I probably never will. #facebookmemories #facebookmemory #camronsbirthday #happybirthdaycamron #queenofharlem #camrons40th #parties #nyc #guestlist #clubs #nightlife #memorylane #tbt #idontdoclubs #humblenikk #happyhumblehuman #clubbing #harlem #harlemnights #passportgang https://www.instagram.com/p/BtmNB6RF8i1/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1k3qpqdb3rkas
