They walk amongst us (Supernatural AU with queenofquarantine)
They night was cold and a cold shiver ran down the Overseers spine. Somewhere a city speaker blabbered and ended in static noise. It was only half an hour in his watch this night and he already wanted to return to his warm bed. Behind his mask, he stiffled a sigh and scanned the deserted street once more. And of course no one was there. The curfew had begun already half an hour ago and most of Dunwall's decent citizens were in their homes. The Overseer shifted his weight and crossed his arms in front of his chest.
But still. There were creatures lurking in the shadows. Preying upon the innocent and unsuspecting. And that was where he came in. The Abbey was one of the last forces to oppose those otherworldly creatures. Night after night he and his brethren were send out to guard the sleeping city. An honorable job it was. But some nights were just tiresome. The Overseer walked a few steps down and up, but not leaving the street out of his view. Only a few nights ago there had been a severe incident a few minutes of walk from here.
The clocktower of the Estate district rung the next hour of his watch. The sound echoed eerily, making the Overseer wish he was just in his bed. Fatigue was nagging at his eyelids. He was so tempted. But then a shadow moved in the corner of his eyes. All his tiredness fell from him. His heartbeat increased and the Overseer drew his sword. Whoever or whatever the intruder was, the Overseer would find out.
He hurried towards the Alley, where he had seen the shadow last, sword in one hand and the other playing over his stock of grenades. The Alley itself was sunk in darkness, only the scarce wondows illuminating it. Wayland stopped and listened. And only seconds later, he heard faint rusting. Wayland's heart was racing as he entered the Alley. "Hello?", he called out softly, hoping he would get no reply at all.
