queenofthedorkside replied to your post “Is it possible to pursue musical theatre without majoring in it? I...”
Would people in the theatre industry look down on you for double majoring/minoring in something besides theatre?
No, certainly not!
Hey you (and your followers) I stumbled on this musical "Be More Chill" and I loved it! I was surprised I never thought to listen to non-Broadway musical recordings before and this is fo sho just as great! Might be good for people who want to add to their books because it's not as overdone as other stuff :) it's contemporary, kind of techno/rock, and takes place at a high school. The song "I love Play Rehearsal" is super cute for theatre nerds, and "Michael In The Bathroom" is just a MS banger.
Thanks for the recommendation!
Wanna fight me rn 👊🏽👊🏽👊🏽👊🏽 (but for realsies what house are you in and also why are you such a cutie)
(( OOC: I will gladly fight you 👊👊 I am a very proud Slytherin and idk i guess i was born this way 💁 ))
When I'm performing, I can't bring myself to really go for it, whether in rehearsal or a show. What I mean is that I always stay in my head and can't bring myself to really commit to an emotion or moment or something. I struggle a lot with confidence, and the logical thinking of "this is a rehearsal space, you're supposed to make mistakes!" doesn't really help either. Do you have any advice or tips for confidence?
I know that this sort of reiterates what you said, but these are the main things I remind people of regarding this: (1) (2)
And remember: working without fear of failure is an active choice. It takes practice, and while some of us have an easier time at it than others, it is a skill that you must develop and work at.
