how do you feel about hope?

What don’t I feel about Hope lmao.

I feel like she truly is Klaus’ saving grace. She is the one thing that made him want to break the cycle of abuse in his life. He took a look at himself and was like “I cannot be my father” and he realised that he couldn’t do to his daughter what was done to him. He would not allow himself to become Mikael and to not let that happen something had to change. He couldn’t sit in this cycle of misery and pain he’d been stewing in for a millennium. I don’t think there is anyone or anything else other than Hope that could’ve snapped Klaus out of it tbh. Not after a thousand years of the same thing, of the torture he inflicted upon others to make himself feel powerful because of how pitiful Mikael made him. I don’t think anything could’ve dragged him from the pits of darkness he was in. 

And for all those who argue “REBEKAH” at me. 1000 years. 1000 years and he did not change. He would bend for her, he would soften occasionally. Only to stiffen straight back up and stick a dagger in her chest because he could not bear to keep it up any longer.

Hope, a child... yeah. Probably the only thing that could make Klaus want to be a better man. And actually try to be one.

And again, before anyone who screams “CAROLINE” at me; he softened, he bent, just a little bit to try and show her he was the good guy just to win the game, to get what he wanted from her. But then he snapped straight back up, stabbed her in the stomach and told her he’d kill her if she didn’t shut up because despite the image he wanted her to have of him, he couldn’t keep up the facade. And as soon as he got what he wanted from Caroline he fucked off and never thought of her again until Stefan mentioned her.

Hope also provided Hayley with the chance to be better than what she had. To fight for something that meant everything to her. All she ever wanted was a family and to quote Phoebe - she made her own little family with Hope. Hayley just never wanted to be alone and with having Hope she made sure she would never be alone again. And she also gave Hayley a chance to prove to herself that she wasn’t something to be tossed away. That she had a place in the world, a purpose, meaning. That she wasn’t unwanted and worthless, that someone wanted, needed her, and always would.

As for Hope within herself - I feel like she has the potential to be a really great character. As long as they do it right. I’m not here for the whole “Hope is evil and dark because she inherited the Mikaelson darkness.” No. Evil/Darkness is not something you inherit. It’s not from a gene like your eye colour and hair colour are. It’s something you absorb after being exposed to it. I doubt Hope has been exposed to enough “darkness” in order to turn her evil within five years. I imagine Hayley would’ve tried to keep Hope’s life as normal as she possibly could.

Hope having a temper. Yes. I understand. She has the werewolf gene and both her parents have impulsive personalities (Not to mention the first born curse of her grandmothers family). Hope being impulsive and wild with her powers in fits of tantrums I totally understand. But if they put Hope out as this evil witch who’s evil and gonna go up against her family and kill all witches like predicted because well... “Mikaelson genes lol” and that she’s going to learn consequences of her actions (quoting an interview here) is like... meh.

Phoebe’s said she’s gonna be precocious and I hope they manage to pull that off in a sassy funny way, not a whiny annoying “please shut this kid up” way.

I also feel like there’s the potential for the TO writers to fuck up their own lore some more and they really need to be solid about what can/will happen in certain situations with Hope.

Hope has vampire blood in her system. This means she heals from all cuts / bruises etc. Her blood also creates hybrids. Does this mean her blood also cures wolf bites?

 (On that note, does Hayley’s blood cure wolf bites? Is it an *all hybrid blood cures wolf bites* thing, or just Klaus?)

When Hope kills. Does she lose her witch powers as she comes a werewolf? Rebekah said you cannot be a vampire and a witch (like she’d never heard of a siphoner before, damn tvd back at it again fucking up your own logic, creating new shit that contradicts your old shit but whatever) but she never said anything about being a werewolf and a witch.

If Hope has vampire blood in her system, does that just mean at any point she dies she automatically wakes up in transition? Does this count for old age too? Does Hope have no choice but to wake up in transition at some point in her life? Be it she chooses to die of old age but she still has to die at like 120 (witches have longer life spans, re, gloria), wake up in transition then choose to die again? 

Does Hope’s blood heal/turn people? If it’s vampire blood and it’s gonna turn her when she dies (again, quoting an interview), if she gives someone her blood will it heal them? will it turn them if they die?

I’m guessing there’s gonna be no bind on Hope so if she turns vamp before werewolf and then kills I’m assuming it’s gonna be a Klaus type situation where she turns anyway? 

Hope has a kid with a normal human, lets say. To what extent are her genes passed down? Just the werewolf/witch genes like is normal? Or will she pass on the whole vampire thing? (Not that we’ll ever see Hope this old on the show, just a passing thought though)

Just another ‘not important’ thing that I really wanna know - DOES HOPE HAVE A CRESCENT BIRTHMARK? WE’VE NEVER SEEN HER SHOULDER AND NOBODY’S EVER MENTIONED IT????? SHE’S THE LAST OF HER LINE!

like in that letter to Hope, he made damn sure she knew he was making a sacrifice. That he. Klaus Mikaelson. Was making a sacrifice. That he was doing good. Homeboy would’ve have it up in neon lights over New Orleans if he had the time to.

He’s gonna pop out of that wall in 3 years time and whenever his siblings so much as breathes wrongly around him he’s gonna launch into a 20 hour lecture about all the pain and suffering he endured so willingly for their lives to be saved

10,000 years in the future and the Mikaelsons are gonna be living on Mars or some shit and he’s gonna be sat there when the conversation is all dried up like “Remember that time in the 2000′s that I spent three years holed up in agony behind a brick wall so y’all could frolic in green pastures” (Whilst there’s gonna be crickets chirping because they haven’t forgotten the fact they spent like decades if not a hundred years or more at a time under a dagger)
