Siiiiiiigggghhhh. Ok i need to vent post-trailer. Lol. I know it's like, their ~thing~ but can we not let the WE HAVE TO GO TO WAAAAAR trope rest for like. A season. Even half a season? It's so exhausting. Lol
Haha I feel that. I really like that the 100 has an overall theme but I wish they’d find different ways to convey the same message. Take the Wire for example (and I know it’s not fair to compare the two since The Wire is one of the most critically-acclaimed television shows of all time but hey), the overall story for that show was about how our systems fail us, specifically how they fail the black community. So every season explored that in a different and new way. It was how the police fail us, how our schools fail us, how our government fails us, how the press fails us.
For the 100 clearly the overarching theme is humans fighting to the detriment of themselves even though we our stronger together. This is a great theme! Humans fight about all sorts of shit. Look at the zimbio poll nonsense that happened recently. Look at fandom, look at politics, look at religion, look at anything involving people! There are so many ways to explore this theme but every season of the show it’s been literal war, with the last two, going on three, being literal war over literal space.
N E WAY I’m still looking forward to this season and the trailer was banging. So I hope it’s good =)
