This is such a weird, soft and nice article for this disgusting man; it was legitimately weird to read it.

The tone is just so nice-neutral and when it brought up the, you know, horrific stuff he did, it just felt somewhere between - feeling the quotation marks around them or the author saying them as tonally nice as they could, so you almost gloss over what they actually wrote.

This is how it starts out -

They do bring up the sexual assault and settling it, but only after his “nice” tribute to his mother.

What even is this article?

Maybe it’s just me, but this was honestly such a weird read, the equivalent of reading -

Dr. Hannibal Lector, acclaimed therapist known for his philanthropy work, creates a tribute dish for the now decease Mayor Lindsay in a stunning display of technical know-how and showmanship. A man was arrested outside the event for protesting with Hannibal the Cannibal written on a sign, as Dr. Lector was accused of killing 30 people and eating them this past year. Dr. Lector spoke of the Mayor’s dry humor, appreciation of wine, and compassion that still inspired him today.

I don’t know. Weird, gross in the neutral take, and overall tonally horrifying considering who they’re talking about.
