I definitely headcanon guardian armor as repairable via ghosts up to a point. there's probably a very lucrative business to be had out of people at the tower who maintain/improve/repair guardian armor for the crucible as well as the general fight against the darkness. but especially the crucible. imagine being the guy who can say his chest pieces will hold up against whatever cheap gun is currently dominating the arena!
There’s 100% a business for the people that make weapons so I’m sure there must be for armor too! The foundries had their names on the “your name here” corners in SRL and there’s that grimmore card about Tex Mechanica trying to sway crucible matches to make their guns look good so more Guardians would buy from them. Armor always seems a tad more personalized but someone has to make it somewhere. Guns get all the flashy attention but yeah, armor makers get to say “that guy would have taken a bullet to the knee, but I made those boots.“
