Climbing 4/4/16

In the morning I taught a new climbing partner how to top rope belay. I have been pushing them aggressively to up their climbing game. We met in the bouldering area. This is partly so I can have someone give me a belay when climbing, the more climbing partners you have the better. This is also because I know they will enjoy climbing outside. There aren’t any barriers to just jumping into climbing outside. If you have 2 arm and 2 legs in good working order you can likely climb. 

I then chilled on my bike around downtown, got a coffee to kill some time. I met someone through the queer colorado climbing facebook group who is looking for a trad partner. I met up with them at the same later in the afternoon and we had a good climbing session with a small group. It was nice to get on rope again. I did fairly well on some harder 5.11 routes which was nice, they are tiring! 

After climbing I decided to get at least a small ride in. Rode down the Platte for about 12 miles. It was a well paced 45 minute ride. Took the light rail back and made a portobello mushroom stuffed with avocado, beans and salsa. 

Tomorrow I’m going to check out the gymnastics gym after work. On saturday night before going out I made the prediction to my friend that I was going to crush rock on sunday. On sunday I fucking wrecked those slab routes. Exceeding Expectations since 2011.
