Queer exchange groups on the internet are so wild every post reads like a goddamn stardew valley bulletin board
Hello friends! I’m a nonbinary trans girl, age 29, super queer, witchy, nerdy, and very extroverted. Since losing my job in July our finances have gotten worse and we need to come up with about $300 in the next month to avoid problems. My spouse and I have a long-term plan, but it takes time to start collecting unemployment and find a new job, etc, and we should be in a better place if we can get through the next couple months. I would like to do some witchy things for people to help our finances along so we don’t get in a bad place. Here are some of the things I’m comfortable doing and have practice doing:
•Personal sigil representing you: $5
•Sigil for any other purpose: $5
(Sigils come with a .jpg and transparent .png and a photoshop .psd file if requested)
•Space cleansing (for houses, cars, etc): $5-$20
•Blessings: $5-$15
•Curses: $15+
•Fresh basil / dried basil / fresh white sage for sale: any donation accepted
($5+ extra charge on services if I need to travel; I live in Tulsa, OK)
General disclaimer that witchcraft is not a substitute for medications or licensed physical or mental health services. Results are not guaranteed. While I believe in the magic of my craft, for many people these actions simply help initiate reflection and meditation to help sort through issues, get some catharsis, or are just for fun, and that’s ok too!
Talk to me about what sort of thing you would like and we can work out exactly what I can do and a concrete dollar amount. My PayPal email address is [email protected], or cash in person works too. I look forward to stretching my witchy muscles!
Please reblog if you can 💖💐🌿🍂❄
Portland Queer Exchange Rant
So, just so I understand, PDX now has two queer exchange groups:
The older one has recently purged its admin team of white supremacists, but does not believe in safe spaces so monitor bigoted threads and only intervene through commenting. Basically everyone is upset and requesting an increase of policing tactics that the mods do not feel comfortable implementing in the hopes of keeping the space transparent and radically welcoming to QTBIPOC.
The newer one has been founded by the purged members of that admin staff, are lead by a person who has been kicked out of a number of POC-centered spaces for creepy silencing behavior, and all of whom have a history of quietly deleting posts by BIPOC, trans folk, and sex workers. Basically they have no problem implementing increased policing tactics and do not engage with the oppressive construction of space they implement with these tactics.
The obvious lesson here is that capitalism does not mix with radical queer spaces, as as the values necessary to support a capitalist construct go immediately counter to radical queer values.

"An exchange for community events, job openings, rooms available, things for sale or trade or free, stuff like that. Kind of a craigslist for the queers you know and who they know and who they know."
