gooners don't deserve gardevoir.

The whole thing with the ralts line is that they're suppose to be Other. They're designed to be otherworldly, etherial, a little alien, uncanny valley liminal space energy. The ralts line used to be purely in the amorphous egg group before they retconned it due to misinformed fandom pressure. The amorphous group is full of pokemon without solid physical bodies like gastly or chandelure but it's also a catch all group for pokemon with nonconforming body shapes like muk or wobbuffet (what even is it?), or chimecho. Gardevoir in early art sometimes has legs and sometimes doesn't which I interpret as the legs only being somewhat real, the legs literlly aren't there sometimes.

Gardevoir and the ralts family were deliberately designed to seem human but in reality be deeply inhuman.

And people didn't get it, this all went over their heads because wow horny, wife material. And I'm not going to get into the patriarchal concepts that come with the term "wife" much but you are taking being that exist outside of human comprehansion and pigeonholing them into the gendered patriarchy loaded term "wife" (when gooners say it "wife rarely means equal legal partner, they mean domentic servant and sex object). Gardevoir is ridiculously oversexualized. Actual Gardevoir is like an empty sheet on a clothesline, there are no breasts, there are no hips! Also 50% of gardevoir are male. But the fetish community overpowered the rest of the fandom enough that the devs changed gardevoir to cater to their sexual interest changing Gardevoir to be more human by retconning them into the human-like egg group and making the legs permanent and noticible. Even the new official plush is life sized and has human like hips. All these changes were only to make gardevoir more fuckable by gooners and cis straight men in particular. Gardevoir was a mistake.

But there is hope yet. Acts of reclamation.

Edit: and did everyone forget that Gardevoir's original concept is a european knight. It's literally the name, Sir knight.
