seeing a proudly genderqueer usamerican on the internet like. i love you so much. i wish you happiness and safety.
not as an aesthetic, as a reference to the canadian punk genre emphasizing the queer experience. yes i'm aware that only some of these songs
queercore - a beginner's playlist. just over half an hour long, and just enough to get you started.

actually i think an essential part of being queer in this day and age is understanding that people are not born with encyclopedic knowledge of every queer identity and that is okay. and that means that you need to keep this in mind when explaining queerness to people who don't have previous knowledge.
basically what i am saying is that you start by defining lesbianism as when women are only attracted to other women. but then you teach them about nonbinary identities and you adjust the definition of lesbian to when non-men are only attracted to non-men, because they are now equipped with the foundational knowledge to accomodate this definition. and then you teach them about the rich history of lesbianism and its intersections with the bi and trans communities and adjust the definition of lesbian to when somebody experiences queer attraction to women. and who knows, maybe you both will learn more and the definition you use for lesbianism will change more, and that is okay.
it's okay for people to not know things. you don't start teaching trigonometry with the sine law, you start by explaining what an isosceles triangle is.
