- Queila
Quentin Beck is the polar opposite of Aiden. Aiden was sweet, kind and genuinely smitten with Leila but the timing is all wrong. Quentin is a huge asshole but weirdly he and Leila, they’re exactly what the other needs at that point.
Leila really just needs a no-strings-attached distraction from everything going on and Quentin is good in bed but his personality is too annoying for her to get attached to him. And Quentin needs someone to stroke his ego and help his career and not ask a lot in return and Leila’s fine telling him he’s smart and inviting him to fancy parties in exchange for some good dick and literally nothing else.

POMS TRYOUTS
I’ve wanted to try out for Poms forever because Tami and Tera were captains back in their days. It started the Monday after spring break and I was more nervous than before. We had to be there at 5 and it ended at 7. During this week we were still showering at Grandma’s because we were getting our shower finished, which meant no practicing at home.
Going in to it, I was like “no no no I’m going to mess this up.” The first day was the Poms routine. It was to the song “Uptown Funk” by Bruno Mars. It was difficult to learn at first but every once and a while I would look to the right and see all those people struggling and I didn’t feel so bad. At the end of the night, I was pretty good at it.
Next day (Tuesday) was Hip Hop. Now, I had learned a few hip hop dances from Matt Steffinia and was better at this. It was to “Anaconda” by Nicki Minaj. Personally I love this song. But I do love feeling myself songs. Queila, my friend I was trying out with, was having trouble connecting to the song. I found it endearing. This dance was easier for me to learn and I really liked it.
Wednesday was a review day so not much happened here. I just learned the dances until I could do it even if I was deaf.
Thursday was tryouts. I was bricking it the whole day. I was in the sixth-ish group with Queila and our friend Ashley. Queila and I were booked for fall, so we went in knowing we couldn’t make the team. So we decided to have a lot of fun with it. It was the waiting to be called that was the worst. We were just practicing over and over again. Queila couldn’t quite get it so we were constantly working. When we were called, we practiced in the little hallway and talked to next year’s captains. They laughed at everything I said (I get really bad nervous humor). So then it was our time to preform, I blacked out. I know I messed up on the first turn and a kick in the Poms dance, and I messed up on the really quick part in Anaconda. However, I killed it. I was having a good time and making funny faces and really getting into it. During our poses in “Anaconda” I mouthed “look at her butt” and pointed and when I turned to two of the judges, they were laughing. I made Queila mess up by doing a funny face. It was great and I was so hyped up afterward.
Ashley made the team and Queila couldn’t because of Tae Kwon Doe. Because I couldn’t do the fall season, I wasn’t put on the team. However, I asked my Health Teacher/Poms coach and she said I was in the last group where they would go through our grades and previous experience and such. Basically, I would’ve made it. But that’s okay because I have swim. Anyways, Queila and I are going to tryout every year. It’ll be fun.
