The Writing in the Margins Query Contest is Live!

Querying Writers! If you’ve written a book with minority characters or characters of underrepresented backgrounds, this is for you! You can get your queries and first chapters critted by authors and peers who have been there (and then some!)

I’ll be on the boards all month critting queries, along with a bunch of other awesome authors. If you’ve got a query letter, feel free to post! I can’t wait to read them :D

Sun Versus Snow

Hey, all!  Are you looking forward to the new year?  Getting those new creative goals solidified?  Trying to cram in any remaining ones you haven't finished?  Throwing everything on the table and hoping for the best?  Yeah, I'm kinda in that last category.

Anyway, I just thought I'd throw this out there for any of my writer friends and followers who have a manuscript that they've finished or are putting the last touches on.  Some crazy-nice people I met in writing forums mid-last year are hosting a query contest, and, if they weren't enough to solidify how cool its going to be, seeing the mentor list and the crazy-kind, crazy-talented people on there does it.

Miss Snark has released the dates for her Baker's Dozen.

The Baker's Dozen Agent Auction is MSFV's biggest event of the year. 60 250-word entries, hand-picked by Jodi Meadows and Authoress, will be placed on the auction block for agents to bid on (with requests for pages, up to a full manuscript request). It bears the name "Baker's Dozen" because the original auction in 2010 included 13 agents--a baker's dozen.
