One of my favorite historical figures is Leonardo Da Vinci. And one of my favorite quotes from him is, “What is called Nothingness is to be found only in time and in speech. In time it stands between the past and future and has no existence in the present; and thus in speech it is one of the things of which we say: They are not, or they are impossible.”

Nothing is nothing, it has no existence/possibility.

In place of “nothing,” i put “something.” As if to say, “What is called Something is tangible and visible. In time it stands in the past and future and exists in the present; and thus in speech it is one of the things we say: They are, or they are possible”

Kinda like “something exists” or “something is possible”

 It’s not that clever lol, but to me it had a nicer ring that “vincinothing.”

You lost me when you decided not to stand with rape survivors. Such a shame

So, you didn’t even read my post and decided to put words in my mouth to fit your narrative. Such a shame. I never said I don’t stand with rape survivors LOL? And you wonder why I don’t take Timothy supporters/Mel haters seriously anymore… This is exactly my point on blinded Timothy believers conveniently ignoring evidence that contradicts what they believed. See: cognitive dissonance. In case you don’t know what that means because you guys are notorious for not looking shit up:

“Cognitive dissonance refers to a situation involving conflicting attitudes, beliefs or behaviors. This produces a feeling of mental discomfort leading to an alteration in one of the attitudes, beliefs or behaviors to reduce the discomfort and restore balance.“

There’s enough evidence saying that Timothy’s story is a little shady, contradicts itself at multiple points, and has no solid ground. You would actively have to lie to yourself to not see it or avoid looking at it all together- aka cognitive dissonance.

As i said before, I initially believed her until I looked at the evidence again. You refusing to even entertain the idea says a lot more about you than it does about me. Like I said before, if you wanted to find the truth about something would you 1) Look into every detail and evidence presented or 2) ignore half the evidence when it doesn’t match what you believe? Which one do you think you’re doing? Don’t lie here.

So, me changing my mind about the situation just means I no longer believe someone who contradicts themselves and has a lot of evidence stacked up against them. I can’t stop supporting rape victims if it was very likely they never were. 

Your response is just further validation that I was right.

I just wanted to say thank you for your ace positive posts. I’m questioning but most identify with the label cishet ace. I’m not out to anyone & didn’t even know about ace as an option until 2 years ago when I was 21. Unfortunately, I see so much acephobia, particularly directed at cishets that I think I’ve internalized it a bit & I’m honestly terrified of the idea of coming out to anyone. Sorry to unload on you a bit, but thank you so much for being a positive refuge for me when I feel so lost.

You’re welcome, and don’t worry about. I use this blog to kind of vent things, too. Especially when I feel like I can’t at home.

I found out I was on the ace spectrum when I was 19 when I took this random “what’s your asexuality type?” quiz on OKCupid. I got demisexual and started doing a lot of research into asexuality and eventually other sexualities and genders. A couple years later, I realized how much I’ve been identifying as gender-flux. Even now at 26, I’m still questioning a few things.

The only people who know are very close friends of mine and people who read the about me on my page lol. I don’t say I’m ace/demi to just anyone, but I’ve come out to a few friends/”friends” who had really shitty, acephobic responses to it, but I’ve realized it’s probably better to know if they’re acephobic now than later.
