Hi, sorry for the question but can I ask what happenned in your d&d campaign?
well it's really complicated and I would need to explain a lot of things.... in as short as possible: I set down as a beginner into a welcoming group of other beginners and veterans. Players left and new players came... The table is now full of different veterans who play power fantasies, both in character background and in reddit thread-minmaxed characters. As a beginner I'm a waste of space at this table. I cant contribute much to the game at all. (if you don't count the occasional healing and crowd control I try to do)
And you know it is very hard to learn how your class works if you cannot play your character because the enemy is dead by the time it's your turn on the initiative order. (also there is very little teamwork at all. Rp is also questionable, we have spotlight hoggers and rp-haters at the same table depending on who has time to come to play)
I'm staying because I like my DnD characters, my dm and 2 other players. If the next three games are as bad as the last 2 I will be so sad.
But to give you some juice. One of the new veteran declared their warlock patron is called Ryuk, the Death God. Took us weeks but the dm asked the player to rename it.
