yep it was an actual teddy bear that was wearing a sort of floral onesie that was stitched on? and I remember when I was about 5 I took him to my ballet recital because apparently we needed a stuffed toy for a ballet choreography? god this is bringing back so many memories.. it currently resides in my childhood bedroom on top of my wardrobe along with all my other stuffed animals from when I was a kid <3

hi howl my beloved 💓 it's still friday for a wee bit longer!

1. i did not have a sweet sixteen - my sixteenth birthday was the same night as my school's sadie hawkins dance (lol) and i spent my evening in a Very Dramatic teenage angst fest. good times! but a lot of my friends had those giant parties, which, looking back, was very strange. and yes, cotillion! definitely a thing. the south is weird.

2. omg little known mel fact! i played chess as a kid and won tournaments 😅 i am dumb brained now and don't play but little mel was all about it! i'm a big fan of the rook. that dude is solid and mobile. he'll bulldoze ya right down.

3. it used to be sixteen candles, actually! but i have watched it a few times in recent years and..... what the fuck??? that movie is so messed up. i can't hang. now it's probably a toss up between ferris bueller and the breakfast club.

1. Which is your favourite day of the week & why?

I actually think I've ever thought about having a favourite day only when fun things were happening I'll be that's a good day haha. I guess Fridays are good bc it's my consistent day off each week & also apperently Sundays are supposed to be a lucky day for Leos but jury's still out imo lol

2. Do you like tv game shows?

I never really watched much of those when growing up in Australia. I only remember having deal or no deal or who wants to be a millionaire but I always change it to watch cartoons lol.

Also this weeks gallacrafts teaser show me how much i have not watched game shows haha my brain was scrabbling 🤣

I think if you would call these game shows i love the british ones that are creative & cleaver like 9 out of 10 cats or taskmaster? 😅

3. Are you spiritual in anyway?

I would say I'm definitely learning towards spirituality with regards to energies, manifestation & crystals nowadays. I wanna learn more but it's sometimes overwhelming bc there's a lot to learn. Thoul I raised catholic & kind of breaking away from that when it was so stifling to hear over & over again how sinful & should feel guilty most of the time. But Jesus that guy's pretty swell imo 😄

Hi Howl! A whole week late but better late?

1) Ok. This isn't a joke, per se, but my favourite joke is that of the pink ping pong balls. Not because it's funny. It is very, very not funny. Except for the person telling the joke. Because I want you to read this joke and then imagine 10 year old Chrissy, having been told this 'joke' by her grade 5 teacher, and then never knowing the punchline. Because instead of that last line, my teacher ended it with 'I'll tell you at your grade 8 graduation'. But I moved away in grade 8 before I graduated at that school! And it didn't occur to me until like grade 11 that I can now google it? And then I did. And THAT was how the joke ended. I wanted 6 years for this! I was furious. So. Jokes on me. I'm the joke. I'm my own favourite joke.

2) I have not! Hmm good question! My family is very religious. So a Coptic cross has to go on there. Then some kind of Egyptian food dish, because we like to feed and be fed. Maybe an eagle? It's on the Egyptian flag, I grew up in the states, and it's their national bird, and it's sacred here in Canada. Is that enough? This is hard! What would be ok yours?

3) This is really funny to me, because there is a house nearby that I sometimes drive by, sometimes just pull up the listing to look at. I'm obsessed with this house. It's a bungalow with a walkout basement. Three bedrooms upstairs, three in the basement. It's certainly well sized, but not like I need an intercom to call someone on the other side. And it's got a pool. But the land! So much land! It's got a pond. And a stable. I would have a horse and a couple alpacas. A bunch of chickens and maybe a peacock. Maybe some ducks on the pond. Definitely 3 or 4 dogs. And I don't have a green thumb, but I'd love to learn how to grown my own food. It's not a farm, but it would be a mini farm country life. That's the dream.

1. when i don't have to work, i usually sleep in, do some reading (and non-work writing, when the brain chemicals are right ✨) or watch a movie, go for a walk, cook or bake something, take a nap with ziz and try to unwind as best as i can after the week

2. the biggest film festivals i've been to are berlinale and the london film festival. they're always sort of like a holiday for me because it's what i genuinely enjoy doing, even if it's always more or less a work event for me

the biggest film festival around here is the karlovy vary film festival which i think ranks pretty high both in terms of what kinda films it shows and who attends it (last summer it showed drive my car, for instance, and ethan hawke, michael caine and – controversially – johnny depp attended), but that one is like a full-on 10-day work marathon for me, so i'm kinda glad it only takes place once a year 🤭

i'd love to get a press accreditation to cannes, venice, toronto or sundance one day 🙏

3. no trials by jury here, so no jury duty either 🤷🏻‍♀️ just another fancy foreign thing i learned about from movies and tv

1) Are you a multi-tasker or do you prefer to focus on one thing at a time?

2) Sweaters with thumb holes: thoughts?

3) The warm weather is coming in, and it got me thinking about how, when I was little, my mum would have an entire set of clothes she packed away over winter and then when spring came she'd pack away her winter clothes! Do you do that? Or do you, like me, wear all things in all weather?

It was really good, then kind of icky, but now it's good again!

I want to focus on one thing, but unless I can get a good hyperfocus going it just ain't gonna happen. So I'm usually doing at least three things.

I want some! They just seem so comfy and cozy🥰

A bit of both! Tshirts and tank tops stay out all year because I can always wear a sweater, and long pants stay out because I work in a lab setting. But long sleeve shirts go away in the summer and shorts go away in the winter, mostly because I just...have too many clothes to leave everything out since I never get rid of anything that fits. I get new things but I also still wear clothes I had 15 years ago, plus I keep making stuff.😂

1. what kind of smart are we talking about? i was the nerdy AP classes, 4.something GPA kid. but also burnt myself this weekend moving a pan i’d just warned a child was too hot. so yeah.

2. meh. conceptually i like it. but i’m gonna let other people test that shit first. i’ve seen how often my car freaks out and beeps to warn me about random shit. we’re not there yet.

3. none because i very rarely watch any ads? like people try and say something like “you know that so and so commercial?” no. no i don’t.

heyyy howl!! i’ve been caught up with things so i haven’t really been present on tumblr but it’s great to be back!! no worries abt sending this late, it’s a great start to my monday morning! 💕💕

1. ideal sunday would be going out for brunch w my friends (we’ve already committed to the granny lifestyle) and just relaxing for the whole day. saturdays are for when i actually wanna get out and about 🥳

2. idk why, but making gifs in silence is lowkey kind of funny to me LMAO. anyway i usually watch whatever show i’m currently watching while giffing. multitasking has always been one of my skills 😌

3. well i use different writing implements for different things haha. i mostly use my laptop now bc it’s so much faster and spellcheck exists (which i need greatly), but if i’m writing notes to remember things i’ll write it by hand :))))
