Simblr Community Challenge

How long have you been playing the Sims – Since Hot Date was released? Immortal Elves are old and have no memory of time. It has been a long, long, time.

How long have you been a Simblr, and why did you become one – Let’s see…Tumblr says I’ve been here since Jan. of 2016. Okay, just over 5 years. I wanted an outlet to stalk, er, follow, yes, follow content makers and share in a blog-type space without the pressures of actually blogging. 

What type of Simblr are you – I guess I’m a random TS2 Catholic Foodie What Else Do I Like kind of simblr. I just post what I like, and what strikes me as something I want to remember, see again, or share with others. I don’t have the time or inclination to keep up with side blogs, so it all gets dumped together. You’re welcome? 

Which generation of Sims do you primarily play - Sims 2.  Forever! I played Sims 1 until 2 came out, and I occasionally want to reinstall it. I’ve never played 3 or 4, and don’t really have any interest in them.

Riccardo (highly recommend!!)

Currently watching: I’m between seasons of “Halt and Catch Fire”. Getting to the tv room has been hard recently, and we got some really good books for Christmas...

Currently reading: “Political Cocaine: How America Got Addicted to the Two-Party System, and How to Intervene” by Art Rude;  “Lost City of the Monkey God” by Douglas Preston; and “Made This Way: How to Prepare Kids to Face Today’s Tough Moral Issues” by Leila Miller and Trent Horn

Currently craving: A hot chocolate with cream and petit chocolate (a chocolate, cream, and red wine liquor I got for Christmas). Super declicious, but not something I can drink before dinner. Alcohol doesn’t help my foot pain.

Last song: “Hit the Highway” by the Proclaimers. I’m gearing up for Burns night this coming Monday. Still haven’t gone to the movies since “Bad Boys For Life”. It just isn’t safe with the uptick in Covid-19 cases here. Still haven’t turned on the tv recently, though I’ve added another book. I’m also reading “Our Lady of Kibeho” by Immaculee Ilibagiza. I have so many books on my to-do list. I need to get off the computer and read, or go play some more Robin River! Currently craving: pizza. Salty, Cheesy, Stuffed Crust with lots of protein and mushrooms...yum. Not tagging anyone this time, but if you want to do it, please say I tagged you!

Favorite color? Blues. Any shade or hue. Or jewel tones. What can I say? I went to high school in the 80s.

Last song I listened to? The last full song I listened to was this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z5JjH2OOoNY, which HubbyTMC posted on his Facebook. It’s silly and stupid, and yet, seems to sum up 2020 so far.

Last film I watched? Pre-quarantine, “Bad Boys For Life”. And I missed part of it because I had to find management to get a lady to shut off her phone. SHUT YOUR PHONES COMPLETELY OFF IN THE THEATER, PEOPLE!!!!

Last TV show I watched? HubbyTMC are working our way through Season 1 of “Halt and Catch Fire” and Season 5 of “Marvel’s Agents of Shield”. I think the former was last night’s choice.

Sweet, savory or spicy? All of the above. For dinner tonight, I have a white-and-brown salty vinegary rice prepped, a savory turmeric and spicy oniony swedish meatball in the crockpot, and a Reese’s crunchy peanut butter pie chilling in the fridge. It’s the first time I’ve been able to cook since I got sick in April, and I wanted all the things.

Bubbly water, tea or coffee? Usually I’m a hot tea or cocoa kind of girl, but thanks to my medical team, I’m now all about the bubbly water.

Pets? I’m currently enjoying my pet-free lifestyle, but I’ve had cats, dogs, birds, and geckos. If I were to get another, it’d be parakeets. I sometimes miss mine.

1. I've just set up my queue for a few days, as next week HubbyTMC will be going to New York. He's singing with choirs in a concert at Carneige Hall, and I'm over the moon about it. 2. I'm doing laundry in my new laundry machine...WHICH BALANCES ITSELF!! 3. I'm getting healthier than I have been in a long time because of a biologic(al warfare drug against my immune system). 4. I have good books to read as soon as I finish planning my curriculum for next year. 5. As I peruse my general news & education podcasts, I keep finding more inspiration for said curriculum. Are you named after anyone?

My first name is from the jilted wife in a famous love story movie. (Wife who in real life died of syphyllis thanks to the husband and his mistress.) My middle name is from my mother's sister.

2. When was the last time you cried?

Sometime earlier this week, but I'm not sure when. Life has been stressfull for a few years.

3. Do you have kids?

Yes. I have two step-children, one of whom hasn't talked to us in several years, and a baby who died in the first trimester. I hate the phrase "lost a baby". I didn't lose him. He died.

4. Do you use sarcasm a lot.

A lot. A really freaking lot.

5. What sports do you play/have you played?

I swim and used to love volleyball, when I still had reasonably healthy knees.

6. What's the first thing you notice about other people?

Smiles. Are they smiling? Do they look like they smile a lot?

7. Scary movies or happy endings?

Happy endings!! I've had enough fear in my life. I used to watch scary movies, but can't any more.

8. Where were you born?

In a hospital on a U.S. Army Base.

9. Any special talents?

I'm a great nanny and teacher. The littles-they love me.

10. What are your hobbies?

video games, board games, quilting, sewing, swimming, reading, watching action films...

11. Do you have any pets?

I had dogs, cats, and birds growing up, but HubbyTMC and I both struggle with multiple allergies, so it's not a great idea.

12. How tall are you?

I'm a hair under 6'0". I'm tall. (But I'm the shortest of my siblings.)

13. Fave subject in school?

English, Math, and Choir. Especially Geometery!!

14. Dream job

Full-time mom and homeschooler.
