Been having a really hard time finding the motivation to hobby. But I managed to put in a little work on this little number. He’s the last knight in my household, so I’m trying to make it extra special. It’s still very much a work in progress but I’m really liking how the green is turning out. And yes, before anyone says anything I know there’s a blob on the front. I’m working on it.

Played my friend’s eldar list again today, this time bringing 4 knights from House Griffin and later assassins with my mighty armiger swarm. The fight didn’t go well ... for the xenos. Ultima Ratio (the orange and grey one) harpooned a flyer out of the sky, and (as per “new model syndrome”) The Velley of the Shadow of Death (bronze and not finished) died, but went out in spectacular fashion. Used the strat to auto explode and killed a wave serpent, her warlord, and Baharroth in one glorious explosion, leaving a “valley of the shadow of death” indeed.

Ultima Ratio is finally finished. I know the Valiant isn’t the most optimized choice, but I love the idea of a giant robot with a harpoon and flamethrower

No points for prediction, but the new Questor Mechanicus Knights Moirax look pretty sharp. Fairly straightforward conversion kit, from the looks of it, and less expensive than I thought it would be - we actually went round and round, last night, debating whether these would be available individually, in pairs, or parted out as weapon upgrades.

Sixty bucks for one isn’t exactly economical, but it’s still twenty dollars less than I thought it would be priced.

Finally finishing up the Armiger Moirax banner after some unexpected delays. As attractive as they are, the number of loose hoses on these models is singularly daunting. Magnetizing was also a bit of a hassle, as the arms don’t come ready made with sockets for them as you might expect.

Instead, the Armiger Moirax uses a removable pin in the elbow that’s just a breakage waiting to happen, so I went in and cored out the peg where the elbow connects to the bicep. Since it’s a completely different part from the plastic Armiger, I’m not sure why Forge World didn’t just design it with magnet sockets pre-cast. In any case, I won’t be in a hurry to do any for myself after this.

Since there’s so much duplication with these models, the client asked that I mix in some regular Armiger heads along with one, each, of the resin Moirax replacements. The effect is subtle, but it’s better than nothing.

Bases will all be done in the cork cracked concrete style, as they’re meant to go with the banner I did way back in the summer of 2018. The cork shreds are a little smaller, here, to give the surface a more variegated texture, but it should still match well with the original set.
