Do u ever think about Will and love? Not just the fact that he never experienced a deep love in his childhood or in the past. The question of whether he really loves someone or if someone just loves him.
I’ve always found Will and Alana’s relationship weird because their love was so brief and out of the blue. Sure, this could be because they were supposed to be the hetero couple, but I think it can also be viewed in its brevity. When Alana lets go of her feelings, it’s like Will’s feelings towards her die at the same time. In fact, he starts to be aggressive towards her when he finds out that she’s in a relationship with Hannibal. And unlike his pining after Hannibal, he doesn’t think much about her outside of when he’s around her or when she’s in imminent danger.
Then there were the two other incidents. Margot didn’t love Will, but he complied possibly because he understood what was going through her head and possibly because he is touch starved. With Chiyoh, the same thing happens.
The only love he’s had where he loves the person even when they’re afar, where he constantly chases after them is Hannibal. It’s an incident where he isn’t simply mimicking someone else’s love of him. He truly develops love for Hannibal by himself.
