Zackly mentioned a memorial service will be held for the fallen. Do you think chapter 90 will cover this? It’d be nice to see all of those who lost their lives for Maria’s reclamation getting a proper burial. I can’t say I’d be looking forward to seeing Erwin’s deceased body again, but he, alongside the rest, deserve to be buried and remembered. Totally hoping Hitch comes to that too to remember Marlow.
If Shiganshina is going to be resettled, the bones and bodies of the 199 soldiers who died there will need to be collected. That includes Erwin’s remains. While I don’t want to see Erwin disturbed, a proper burial and memorial service would be nice. (I NEED A EULOGY!!!)
I’d be surprised if it’s next chapter or anytime soon. There’s far too much to do to protect the living and that has to be the focus. I see the memorial more as an epilogue thing.
That said, I sincerely hope there are small moments along the way that show that Erwin is not forgotten. I’d love to see brief mentions of him and the others while we wait for that.
