The Ancient Religon
The Ancient Religon has existed ever since the First Fae came about. The Ancient Religon is a Religon dedicated to 7 Gods with Wisteria, Queza, Vanali, and Amei among them. Solisina and Queza, the creation goddess and sun goddess respectively, are the most worshipped. The least worshipped are Amei and Vanali, the earth and the moon gods. The Ancient Religon is not the only religon in Red, however, it is the most known and widely practiced one. Partitioners pray to the East as that is said to be the direction the Sun faces when the Gods favor them. Those who pray to Amei, face North as it is the direction the Moon rises and falls, and to pray for a Crimson Eclipse, as that comes on the winter solstice. The Ancient Religon practices blood sacrifices, and is usually seen as an honor to be collected by the Gods to go to the Spiritual Revenant. The blood sacrifices are now only done in secret, as this is against the law nowadays. The Ancient Religon condemns those who speak during prayer as it is seen as an insult to the Gods, or that you have turned your back on a path to meeting the Gods.
The Ancient Religon was first created because of a war. What was the Mayan period in Mexico was the time this happened. Humans in the Scottish isles decided that they wanted magic back. It had been centuries without it, as it had been stripped from them by the causes of famine, war, and infighting. The Fae who lived in the fairy rings there, protested that they shouldn’t have it back due to their greed centuries before. Furious, humans stormed Red, who at the time could be reachable by humans, and slaughtered Fae. This was later to be known as the War of Crimson Flowers. A Fae Preistess prayed to the Queza, but no answer came. Instead a single flock of swans landed in the area. The High Preistess and the Fae were guided out of harms way. They had been helped by the goddess of the moon, Amei, as her patron animals were swans and rabbits.
When they returned the High Preistess who had been worshipping the Sun, started to worship the Moon. She continued to worship the Sun, and brought the Moon back to their rightful place amongst the other six Ancients. An ancient text was written by the High Preistess have loads of scribbling on rock tablets, her writings being transferred onto paper as a book known as the Book of Seven. One word to describe this religon is Hope. Even though Queza had presumably left, they still had 6 other Gods to turn to, and were always hoping the Gods would be the ones to guide them into the afterlife. The Ancient Religon patron animals are nightingales. These are said to be the birds of the Gods, as it is said that when the Nightingale sings, it symbolizes the night prayer done by members. This prayer is to Vanali and Amei, to give thanks for nighttime and thanks to living another day.
