This old motorcycle is a Casal K 81. Yes, it may not be the Eight Wonder of the World, but, between 1953 and 2000, the Metalurgia Casal, a company established in the city of Aveiro, was the main motorcycle maker in Portugal. Okay, the Casal - as well as other Portuguese motorcycles - was never a cool brand, but they are part of the industrial History of Portugal... and, most of all, they are a legacy of a time when Portuguese companies would rather produce things (including motorbikes) themselves rather than import foreigner items.

Nowadays, these babies are still not exactly rare, but they are far from being as common as they used to.
