Remi Wolf is the newest artist to emerge from a generation that has seemingly thrown genre classifications and restrictions to the side. With the release of her debut EP, You’re a Dog! earlier this year, the six-song collection showcased the kaleidoscopic range of the promising artist.

Johnny Utah Always Kisses His Homies Goodnight | Quick 6

Johnny Utah is indie music’s next big thing. Formally known as Jacob Sullenger, he debuted his alter-ego as Johnny Utah in 2018 with the release of his self-titled EP. Unpredictable but always a great time, the rapidly rising artist struck gold with the release of his infectious single “Honeypie” and shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

Excited to see where he’s headed, we were able to sit down with Mr. Utah himself to hear about his love for E-40, always making sure to kiss the homies on New Year’s Eve, and whether he actually likes honeypies or not. Be sure to keep an eye out for Johnny Utah’s next single “4Tounce available,” set for release November 7!

White Reaper Is the World’s Best American Band | Quick 6

White Reaper is best described in a few short words: “fun as hell.” The Louisville, Kentucky–based band is the sort of tried-and-true rock band that is not married to any particular brand of rock. Although their Elektra-records debut album, You Deserve Love, holds traces of classic rock, glam, New York indie, and a touch of good ol’ fashioned Brit-rock, its sonic influences and inspirations serve as more of a testament to the band’s mission statement–to live up to their self-adorned title of the world’s best American band.

We had the pleasure of catching up with the world’s best American band as part of our latest Quick 6 to talk everything from secret tattoos to the intricacies of coaching a proper barfight.

Check out our “Quick 6″ interview with Matt Maeson and discover his greatest fears, desires, and Hilary Duff fandom.

Matt Maeson is one of Ones to Watch’s favorite up-and-coming alternative minds. Hailing from Virginia Beach, Maeson had a rollercoaster of an upbringing, spending his childhood volunteering with his parents’ outreach ministry before getting caught up in drugs and eventually spending a short stint in prison. After his release, the singer turned his experiences from his tumultuous youth into art by writing songs during the precious hours between his construction job and performing community service. In a few short years, the introspective songcrafter went from touring the US in a humble Hyundai and writing songs on the road to releasing his debut album Bank on the Funeral ahead of his Ones to Watch-presented headlining tour this summer.

YUNGBLUD Enlists Justin Bieber for a Bar Fight and Might Run for Prime Minister | Quick 6

In anticipation of this year’s rapidly approaching Lollapalooza, we have opened up the Ones To Watch vault to uncover a treasure trove of footage from 2018′s festival. So, as we prepare to make our way to Chicago this summer for what might be our favorite festival of the year, join us in reliving some of our favorite moments with some of our favorite up-and-coming artists. And what a better way to start than with a quick interview with YUNGBLUD.

Following a standout performance, which we are still thinking about to this day, we caught up with the rock star in the making at last year’s Lollapalooza to chat everything from why he would enlist Justin Bieber in a bar fight, a newfound love for Chicago deep dish pizza, to why pink is the color to rock.

Shordie Shordie on “Bitchuary” and Getting 03 Greedo’s Stamp of Approval | Quick 6

Baltimore’s Shordie Shordie is no stranger to creating hits and setting trends. He first emerged in music as a member of Peso Da Mafia, which produced viral tracks such as “Money Man” with millions of streams and an infectious dance to match. Folks soon caught onto Shordie Shordie’s eccentricity and swagger portrayed in the group’s videos and this ultimately initiated his career as a solo artist. Lo and behold, the Baltimore rapper is currently setting the streets on fire with his latest “Bitchuary (Betchua)” visual and we’re certain that this is only the beginning of a fruitful solo career.

Cub Sport on Coming Out, Married Life, and Their Dogs | Quick 6

Cub Sport’s self-titled debut album arrived in 2019 to widespread acclaim, yet in spite of its name, it is not their first project. The Australian band has spent the last few years transforming before our very eyes from local indie-pop phenoms to global pop powerhouses. And with the release of their lauded self-titled album, the Australian outfit introduced us to a band capable of not only dreamy pop greatness but delivering a deeply personal collection of stories in the same breath. From Tim Nelson’s journey of coming out to confessing his love for fellow band member Sam (Bolan) Netterfield, Cub Sport is an emotional and sonic journey.  

In honor of Pride month and everything Cub Sport has accomplished this far, we had the pleasure of inviting Nelson and Netterfield from the band to answer a question or six in our latest Quick 6 interview.
