Galarian Darmanitan has been Quick-Banned from Smogon OU
A quick-ban means that the Pokemon was not put on trial for a public vote, but rather was banned due to a council vote. The announcement is linked below.

Now my thoughts. This is the first time in the eight years I've been playing under smogon rules that an OU ban has left me dissatisfied. While yes, Galarian Darmanitan is incredibly broken and has zero counters. And while yes, the public opinion was overwhelmingly pro-ban. I can't really support a quick ban. Quick bans should be rarely utilized, only occurring in the most extreme of circumstances. I really don't think Darmanitan was a Naganadel or a Mega Salamence. I have no issue with it being banned, but it should have been put up to a public vote. The main argument for supporting smogon's banning practices when talking to casual players is that it's a community vote that anyone can qualify for. While the quick ban makes sense as somebody dedicated to playing on showdown, I feel as though this quick ban will only fuel the anti smogon fire. Besides, it should have been a community decision regardless.
