Josie Writing Example/Outline

Miranda was a dancer in NYC, trying to make it on Broadway. She was dating an abusive corrupt police officer named Eric. One day, she witnesses Eric committing murder. Eric cleverly sets up the murder to make it look as if Miranda committed the murder and not him. 

Before she can be arrested for the murder, Miranda manages to escape to a small island in the Caribbean where she creates a new identity for herself. She finds works in a nightclub as a bartender for a popular nightclub called Taboo. Taboo is known for its popular burlesque dancers and the nightclub is often frequented by famous celebrities. 

Miranda’s good friend Saskia is part of the burlesque dance troupe at Taboo. Saskia is supposed to perform a private dance for Drake, a famous hip hop artist who has rented out Taboo to celebrate his 27th birthday. On the very night of the party, Saskia twists her ankle by mistake and cannot perform. She asks Miranda, whom she has seen dancing before, to take her place on stage. Miranda reluctantly agrees and ends up performing a sexy dance for Drake.

Arrogant Drake is tired of living the celebrity life. He’s tired of the users around him and has huge trust issues. He’s also trying to forget tragedies in his past. He’s immediately captivated by the beautiful burlesque dancer on stage, but is reluctant to fall in love with someone outside of his celebrity circle, and with a girl so quiet and mysterious.

Drake and Miranda have a love/hate attraction, so dialogue between them has to be tense. Can Miranda fall in love with a celebrity knowing she must keep her identity hidden? Can Drake change his superstar ways and fall for a mysterious girl? Will Eric ever find Miranda? Who are the side characters? What will be the side plots?

@charmedsims  This is an example of a rough draft outline that I created for a story I wanted to write for Simblr but never did. I create a one page outline with the main plot points and asked myself questions at the end, and then continued plotting from there. Hope this example of my first rough draft/initial outline of my process helps!

Stranger in my arms, the subject of my moodboard.

You may not know this one, but Stranger in my arms is an historical romance written by Lisa Kleypas. It tells the story of Lara (lady Hawskworth) whose late husband, Hunter, earl of Hawskworth, died during a shipwreck. This Hunter was one real mother-f*****, who cheated on Lara since the very beginning of their short-lived marriage and mocked her for not having conceived. He left to make more wealth in India, but, as I said, he died in a shipwreck, or so Lara thought, because one day he appears in front of her and pulls a Roxette ( Close the door, let's make love… ) But there is this thing. If he is Hunter, why does he love her (and lust her) so much now? And if he isn’t, how does he look so much like him (and knows all the things he did)?

So yeah, I’m trying to turn that into a moodboard.
