You seem to be making your way quickly through Doctor Who, I hope that means you’re enjoying it. The gas masks are very creepy but The Empty Child and The Doctor Dances are probably my favorite episodes of series 1.
I am! It took a few episodes, but "Dalek" finally sold me. "The Empty Child" and "The Doctor Dances" were fantastic.

Blaine's been wearing a lot of bow-ties in Season 5. Do they still function as a shield or do they represent something else now?
There are two sides to the bowties, the first is the shield aspect that I talked about which is why Blaine started donning them once he moved to Mckinley but they have come to represent Kurt’s presence in his life too after Kurt moved to NY. After Blaine stopped wearing them, the bowties made a brief appearance once in s4 in I Do after Klaine’s hookup. Blaine started wearing bowties again in s5 because they represent Kurt. He no longer has shields now, no longer needs them after he found his own identity and friends at Mckinley.

I just rewatched it and cried more the second time watching than the first. Lea Michele was incredibly generous to allow us to witness her grieving in that way.
The amount I cried the first time around had a lot to do with things unrelated to the episode so I think that's why I was more okay with the rewatch. I got misty eyed during the Hudmel scene and during Santana's song but Lea Michele's presence just opened the floodgates.
It was incredibly giving of her. I don't think I will ever understand how she did that. It goes so far beyond the show being her job and her level of commitment and professionalism.
