Starting Again || Redemption AU

For Yuhime, it was hard to settle back into things.

She and Mccree finally agree to move back in together at his home, her being the more reluctant party. But she eventually came around. They figured it would be best in order to rekindle their relationship, at least somewhat back to the way it was. It’ll be awkward at first, but she was sure they could work things out...

Stepping back into the house for the first time in two years filled her with nostalgia. So much happened in this house...Mccree had cleaned up before she arrived and the house looked exactly the way she left it.

“It’s...been forever since I’ve last been here. ” She muses, a hand gliding across the couch. Though she was reluctantly happy to be here again, surrounded by happy memories from so long ago, Yuhime knew that the two years she was gone, it was filled with lonely memories of Mccree by himself and it tore her heart apart with guilt, reminding her of her own lonely years.

Genji didn’t know what exactly he was doing. Walking to McCree’s door, knocking and just hoping for an answer. Since the recall, he had been rekindling his friendship with the cowboy. Though even now when it was borderline the dead of night, he needed company. Meditation and positive thoughts some days could not push away the negatives that haunted him still. 

Jesse would always manage to distract him or even make him feel better once he caught on. Always had... And he certainly hoped always will. Genji let out an exhale, nervously shifting on his feet. He really hoped he hadn’t disturbed his friend at all.

Hana had actually been mildly surprised to find that the biker hideout actually had a bathtub. A shower, sure but did the gang members just... come by for a bubble bath every now and again? Why else would they need a tub? She’d have to ask Jesse about in once she was done.

Leaning her head back against the lip of the tub, she sighed deeply at how the warm water felt against her sore muscles. She sat up and rolled her shoulders, humming to herself at how nice the stretch felt. She closed her eyes, laying her head back against the cool edge of the tub. Maybe she’d ask Jesse for a massage later. Would that be too forward? 

She was far too distracted thinking about it that she didn’t notice when he entered the bathroom, only opening her eyes when she heard the light ‘splish’ of someone else entering the water with her. Her head snapped up, her mouth slightly open with shock. 

“Jesse?” 

Her eyes strayed from his face for a brief moment before she caught herself, her whole body going pink with embarrassment. She brought a hand up to her mouth before sliding beneath the water so only her eyes could be seen, mortified. She made no move to shoo him out of the bath, however, choosing to simply look up at him from beneath the water, hoping he couldn’t see how she was blushing.

The learning curve

Ah shit, he’s been weeks into training, he’s no spy. He’s a medic for fucks sake. But he already said yes to Boss Reyes. He’s outfitted himself, tweaked some of his medical tech to suit his purpose. Fortunately, Benedict’s a fast learner. Quietly standing in the firing range, he takes aim with his modified gun. An unassuming pistol.

He takes a breath, aiming down the line, with a squeeze of the trigger, he fires, there's barely a sound. Even in the deathly quiet firing range, the gunshot sounds more like a whisper if one tried to listen.

He takes a couple more quiet shots, every bullet hitting it’s mark. Then just off to his right there’s the loud 6-shot discharge from an iconic revolver. “Ay tangina!” Ben swears loudly as the noise throws him off and scares the bejeezus out of him. He’s clutching at his chest, a bit wide-eyed as he turns seeing Boss McCree standing there, smoking gun in hand, hat on his head even if they’re indoors.

“Boss, you scared me.” He says a little breathless.
