In this au, Tenna was dropped on his initial way into the Dreamurr home and has always been a bit....weird.
This is because cathode tubes are actually full of mercury, and one had split just the teeniest bit, allowing Tenna to ever so slowly spiral as he's poisoned from the inside out.
His only saving grace was Spamton, an Addison who was delightfully soft and fluffy and a BIG SHOT that Tenna desperately wanted for himself.
After the Phone Call and Spamton vanishes, Tenna starts to spiral faster and when hes cleaved and tossed outside, some of his cathode filaments shatter completely and his screen cracks.
Fun fact, did you know not only did crtv's have mercury in their electrical components, but they also had toxic amounts of lead in their screens. This is why you're warned to dispose of them properly and advised not to allow them to break.
After this and being taken to Castle Town, Tenna is VERY different. He spends a lot of time either spaced out or escaping his room in Ralsei's castle to wander in search of Spamton. Who he doesnt entirely recall has left him.
Touching him in this state is ill advised, between the lead and mercury he should NOT be approached and should be safely moved back to his room.
On the other hand, we have Spamton. After his big deal falls through, Spamton's body sort of? Falls apart. Through excruciating trial and error he's mostly managed to patch himself back up, but he had to sacrifice a portion of his height and the quality of his fur to remain somewhat stable.
His Neo form like this is a beautiful beast that only fucks him up worse when he's defeated by our beloved Lightners.
They end up taking him back to Castle Town where he sort of exists in two states.
Neo is still alive, sort of. The husk of Neo was brought back and strung up in a storage area while they try to figure out how to fuse Spamton with it in a more stable way.
Meanwhile the Spamton that runs around now is more like a small hologram that can see and slightly interact with the world. But he can't go far from the Neo body and sometimes cant leave it at all.
There are times he's simply trapped in its shell, screaming for someone to help him and set him free.
Of course, Tenna knows this. He hears Spamton, has always heard him. And falls apart into further ruin as he desperately tries to figure out if Spamton is real or not.
(I swear this au can end happy, ive just been thinking that im old and own some like 50's CRTV'S and I haven't really seen anyone cover how nuts it is that they're so toxic and how that could affect Tenna woops)
