spring hangs heavy in the night air. damp, with a warmth surrounded by chill as winter gets warded off. warm enough that everything feels fresh, good. yoosung stands in a light jacket on the street. in the halo of light above him, a few young moths flutter about the streetlamp. the pavement is still a little damp from afternoon rain, and it shines in the moonlight. he checks his watch and gnaws on his lip a moment before remembering to stop and relax.
still... he wonders where salice could be. she said eight, and it’s eight fifteen. his mind runs too wild now. it was raining earlier, was there an accident? or maybe she’s being careful for once. or maybe some strange man has gotten to her, or---he almost texts her, but the last thing he needs is for her to text him while driving.
the loud rumble of the motorcycle engine precedes her. yoosung looks up into the street with a light in his eyes now, a smile on his plump lips previously drawn thin with worry. he jogs up to meet her, unable to stop his grin at the sight of his girlfriend despite seeing her bare head. ❝ where’s your helmet? you promised... ❞
