This started off so strong, was highly atmospheric, and captured my attention.
However, once Valla reached her destination the story lost its momentum for me - the new characters introduced were so one dimensional that I was unable to recapture my original interest in the story.

Look at these mugs. I have to tell you, it’s a delight each and every time I see a photo of friends (and strangers, too!) who have bought the book and are about to take this journey with Jules and Jack. I wish I could enter invisibly, Scrooge-like, into their homes and watch them reading (is that weird?). It’s mind-blowing to think that what has come out of my brain will be going into theirs—it’s such an intimate exchange.
