Quilt nerd time
I'm recording a class for a quilting summit in August, as well as one I'm teaching in-person in October. Now that I have my machine back, I spent today doing a little prep work.
I drew out most of the fine line free motion quilting motifs I use frequently in various sizes. Each motif is stitched over 1, 2, and 3 times to show how the repetition of the stitched lines affects the line density with this thread weight.
I prefer to use a thin polyester thread so that I can add layers for a sketched appearance. More layers for outlines, less for shading. This will be re-drawn on paper and copied to become a print out for my students both virtually and in-person.
