How is/was quilt con?!?!?! Did you buy all the fabrics? I keep looking at the half-finished quilt on top of my sewing trunk and thinking of you.
QuiltCon was SO FUN! It was a super inspiring experience and was a kick in he creative pants for me. Every night I went back to my hotel room wishing I was in my sewing space so I could get to work on a project. I bought a decent amount while I was there, pretty equally spread between fabric and patterns.
Here’s most of what I bought. No pictured: giant ruler and batting samples. It probably doesn’t look like a lot of fabric, but there are 12 fat quarters, 6 1/2 yards, 3 yards, 2 charm packs (42 5 inch squares), and 2 fat quarters of cork. There’s also a little bit of free fabric. One set of 10 5 inch squares, and then 4 foot long pieces of Michael Miller fabrics that I need to make into a 6.5 X 6.5 square for a quilt they are making from all the blocks sent to them. I also have 4 patterns, one book, one magazine, a small rotary cutter (with replacement blades), some small purse hardware, a book (that I won), a magazine, and a pin from SCAD. I also came home with a bunch of fabric I won on an instagram auction that was cheaper to pick up at the con than mail to me.
While at QC, I also sewed my first ever curve.
And I learned how to draft a skirt pattern and install an invisible zipper.
I am so excited to be home so I can play with everything!
