You GUYS - I went to the National Quilt Museum in Paducah, KY - and it was INCREDIBLE. It’s a mecca of texture, patterns and color. The intricacy of each quilt’s detail, the emotion and craftsmanship exuded from each piece, the history and artistry connecting humanity worldwide is all palpable through something as simple and ancient as blankets. “Just blankets” - HA! Quilt museums are a wonderful way to see some fantastic quilts. I was visiting the Texas Quilt Museum in La Grange. They had a wonderful exhibit of Southern quilts collected by Mary Kerr. You were not allowed to take pictures, but the museum took my pic, with Love of Quilting magazine which has my quilt in it, in front of this lovely appliqué quilt called Cotton Boll.
