Sometimes patterns will have 1/16th inch measurements and there is no 1/16” mark on the ruler. Hopefully this picture will help you when faced with this dilemma. There should be 1/8” marks on the ruler. So for example, 3/16” is halfway between the 1/8 and 2/8” marks. 8/16” is at the 1/2” mark and 3/16” would be halfway between the 6/8 and 7/8” marks. So the 1/8” marks on the ruler are the equivalent of 2/16, 4/16, 6/16, 8/16, 10/16, 12/16, 14/16 and 16/16, or 1.
