The Difference A Year Makes
A follow up to last's year's Quinnard pic. I used the exact same backgrounds. In a very recent session, Quinn officially asked Renard out, and his answer boiled down to, "If we survive this adventure, let's give it a shot."
As far as she's concerned, they're dating now.
Mage Slayer
So, Quinn's on the verge of leveling up to level 8, and so I'm gonna give her the feat Mage Slayer, mostly to make Strahd's life a bit more hellish when we finally fight him.
To commemorate, I wanted to draw a neat picture of her using the Sun Blade, which she's had for ages at this point.
Quinn Lautner: Vampire Hunter
Meet Quinn, 19-year-old daughter of a vampire-hunting family. She's a ranger with all the book smarts on what she's doing, but this is her first field mission. Let's see how long her optimism and enthusiasm last. 🙂
Her visual aesthetic is heavily inspired by 1917 fashion with a fantasy flair.
So, a few sessions back, we managed to filch this broken sword from Lady Fiona Voctor's mansion. Quinn was doing some research on it when she realized it's the legendary Sun Blade.
She promptly attuned to it. XD
Her curls are looser and she's not wearing her sash because it's at the end of a long day. Also, she's barefoot, but you can't see that behind the table. X3
In other news, I learned how to make animated gifs in Procreate tonight, and while my first attempt wasn't working out, I may revisit the idea of making the candlelight flicker...
Quinn Lautner Mood Board
I can't stop thinking about my D&D darling, so here's a mood board for her!
Top row: Who she was trained to be - a monster (specifically vampire) hunter. Middle row: What Borovia has given her so far - lycanthropy and the Sun Blade. Bottom row: Who she is by nature - a scholar, a sentimental woman, sweet and feminine with a sharp wit. Believe me, she's keeping a journal and taking notes in Borovia so she can update her family's research.
And yes, I recently realized that Rachel Weisz, specifically Evelyn Carnahan/O'Connell in The Mummy franchise would be the perfect fc for her.
With only hours left to 2024, I give you... my final shippy Christmas pic! (And my last pic of 2024.) I'm a big fan of the lighting, and the texture of the fur trim on her coat. Also, the snow outside the window.
This is my D&D character, Quinn (you might remember her from her concept pic), and @reanimatedmuses' character Renard Volpe (yes, his name is Foxy McFox). They are not a couple yet, though they do like like each other. However, they're currently at the stage where one says, "Why, are you jealous?" and the other says, "No, should I be? ... Wait, should I be?!"
We have a playlist for them that consists largely of songs where the singer/singers are in denial, or talking about how much they dislike each other. You know, classic casual enemies to lovers. X3 Hence, the mistletoe and the smiling rejection. (Also, she's blushing.)

Hello, positivity owl, and to whoever sent you here. Sorry it took me a few days to get to this.
I guess what I'm most passionate about right now (or what's been taking the majority of my focus) has been my D&D character, Quinn Lautner.
I rolled her up for a Curse of Strahd campaign (only the second time I've ever played D&D, and the first time was, like, twenty years ago, no joke), and she's essentially an au version of Jonathan and Mina Harker's son, who was born at the end of Dracula. See, their son was named Quincy, after good ol' Quincy Morris who gave his life in the good fight against the vampire count. So Quinn's parents are named Ian (a variation on John) and Willow (a different nickname for Wilhelmina), and Lautner means the same thing as Harker.
She was raised by a vampire-hunting family to also be a vampire hunter, but this is her first field mission. Spent a week in Borovia, and got bitten by a werewolf, so now she's one, too. XD (Fortunately, I'm using the homebrewed class of Blood Hunter, so she has control over herself when transformed.) In a recent session, she attuned to the Sun Blade, so that's super fun!
I've done some art of her (including a mood board), and I've also go a couple playlists for her on Spotify, one of which is a shippy one with @reanimatedmuses' character (though it's not there yet, they're both interested and being kind of juvenile about it. X3 Classic bickering "enemies" to lovers shit).
If I had to give you a character inspiration list for her, it would be: Mina Harker, Evy O'Connell, Jane Porter (specifically Disney's), and Disney's Rapunzel (though her to the least extent).
