Director Quinn Shephard on Luke Slattery in BLAME:
“Luke Slattery came to his first audition in character… I think! He was so committed to Eric that Luke’s voice and Eric’s voice blended together a bit to me on set. I got to know him much more closely after the shoot and saw that he was, of course, not like his character at all! Which is such a testament to his natural ability as an actor. Luke worked with Owen Campbell so well on set that I barely had to direct them— they constantly riffed and improv’d lines that had the crew howling with laughter. I tried to give them as much creative freedom as possible, and was absolutely rewarded. They brought life and comedy into scenes that has been so much drier on the page—without Luke and Owen, the film wouldn’t be half as funny!”
