Speaking of Nightmares..
There is this show I love. Legacies. It’s a spin-off of The Vampire Diaries and The Originals I have finished the Vamp Diaries now on season two of The Originals. And something that has been on my mind for WEEKS (because Legacies took a winter hiatus) was something that Hope Mikealson (played by Danielle Rose Russel) said to Josie Saltzman (Kaylee Bryant).
This thing that happened between them was the fact that Hope gave Josie this talisman for her 16th birthday. The two are unlikely friends but we all know how character development works..
Anyyywwaaayyysss long story short Josie is trapped by her “demon possessed” biological mother as they are on their way to Josie’s shared sixteenth birthday party (w her twin Lizzy, played by Jenny Boyd) To which Hope, Penelope Park (witch, Josie’s ex, Lulu Antariksa) and MG (vampire, friend, Quinsey Fouse) later rescue her.
Again anyyywwaayyyss when she is rescued, the newly formed “Avengers Squad” was completely overjoyed and Hope then says “The talisman, it worked” to which Josie asks “What’s it supposed to do?” Then the scene ends with Hope saying, “makes quiet things heard.”
You see when I first saw this scene I thought “oh it’s because Josie doesn’t really speak up for herself and all of this stuff, blah blah, Hope did it because Josie has no back bone.” BUT NOOOO she literally did it because SHE KNEW JOSIE WAS GOING TO BE IN TROUBLE BECAUSE SHE CAN DO THAT. In case you don’t know Hope Mikealson is a wolf, vampire, and witch aka unicorn, aka trybrid.
I just saw that she could do that in The Originals just a couple of episodes back where baby Hope saved Cami (human, babysitter) from a gas fire that her uncles Elijah and Finn were starting. She knew what was going to happen so she (BABY HOPE) stopped the car and waited until the fire arose and Cami could see it was obviously not safe.
Back to Legacies, Hope gave Josie the talisman because she knew somehow that she needed to be safe in times count and in order for that to happen she needed to be heard. So when MG couldn’t hear JOSIE the first couple times (instead of zombies) whilst looking for her she {Hope} got frustrated and at the time was probably thinking “what if she’s not wearing it?” Or “what if it’s not working etc” to when she says to MG “dammit MG get up and find her” because she was just so worried that one of her only friends was probably going to die on her birthday. Then, it was a HUGE relief as to when they found her and Hope was proud of herself for giving the talisman and Josie for wearing it.
And so basically all that being buried/ rescued alive was doing of THE Necromancer who was looking for a key to set him free of this place called Malivore. He’s free and now there’s two more keys, one of which, judging by the preview that was given last night, is something that let’s worst nightmares come alive. And I’ve seen that Penelope Park will be in that episode even though Josie isn’t and I’m kind of hoping we get to see some of her worst nightmares considering she obviously still loves Josie and that she is one of the baddest witches around.
