Who's Interviewing Who Here?
It's a little late, but I had a job interview last Monday for the "Online Marketing Internship Program" at QuinStreet in Foster City.
The entirety of the day was hilarious to me. I wore some J. Crew pants and a maroon button-down with a grey blazer and black heels, which I had to wrap my ankle for because it was still sprained pretty badly. I was early, which was good because I proceeded to trap myself in an elevator with no buttons inside of it before I finally found my way to their beautiful lobby.
Five men who had executive jobs talked to me for a half hour each in rapid succession. One of my friends who also did the interview pointed out later that the lack of women implied to her that there was a glass ceiling... This concerned me a lot less than the fact that only one of them had been there for over a year, making me think that turnover was high and the company was not particularly fun.
Learning more about the internship, I realized it's a boring one and that marketing analysis - at least this kind - is probably not for me. One man asked me if I had OCD (yes, would you like to see my planner?) and another was surprised that I could do basic math in my head (no, I don't need to use my phone calculator).
I went home, I sent thank you notes, I expect to hear back sometime this week or next. Keep you posted!
