*on patrol, an older woman, dressed in sturdy but clean and well made garments, bearing a basket containing a variety of sweet smelling herbs, approaches him, coming to a halt a respectable distance away*
Lord, if i could beg a moment of your time,
I see have seen you pass this way many times over, and I could not help but take note of the adornments of your own helmet having their orgin in whichever you then would happen to find,
*She removes the cloth covering the contents of the woven basket, and removes from them two long sprigs of rosemary, cut not too long ago either, judging from the fragrance, then, clasped between both of her palms, she holds them infront of him, for his inspection, such that he might either reject or accept them, as it would please him*
Such that, if I may, I would like to then offer you, Lord, these for such a use instead.
The presence of you and the other lords, goes a long way to keeping these paths as safe as they are, and as such it would feel amiss to not then return at least smth of it back to you in turn.
And should it please you, I would be most glad indeed to make this offering a standing one, for I might not have much, though of it I give gladly.
*quintus hesitates at the scent of the rosemary at first, still growing used to his own enhanced sense of smell, but he then carefully takes the sprigs to tuck them into his helmet* Thank you, kind citizen. This is most thoughtful, I am happy to accept your offering. These will do nicely until such day I earn my laurels. Though I do not wish to burden you by insisting on this to be a regular gift.
Quintus, you are such an adorable blueberry and I want to give your helmet a big smooch

(I have no art of him that isn't a chibi rip)
Name: Quintus Rector gender: space marine (he/him) age: 17 Faction: Ultramarines Rank: battle brother (only recently) Place of Birth: Tallassar Current Location: Macragge Connected OCs: Cliamar Ross, Derecho Broer, Gael Erminae, Anders Ravenwing (trained together) Born and raised in a fishing family on a steady diet of ultramarine propaganda. Quintus gathered posters from the recruitment office at every chance he got, plastering them on his wall at home. It was, as such, only a manner of time before he stood before the recruiter and eagerly told him that he was now of age...even if that was a lie at the time. Quintus was recruited naturally, and trains hard to be the best he can be and live up to what he believes an ultramarine should be. He does have severe codex-dependency and struggles to let go of the way things "should" be, mostly because life as a freshly minted space marine is overwhelming and it gives him something to hold on to. He will still go starry eyed seeing some of the ultramarines he recognises from his posters, too.

all the cool brothers have capes. I wonder if i can get a cape. - quintus
An observant watcher might have noticed that quintus does not actually wear laurels, he has not earned any yet! instead, whenever he is on patrol he picks up random twigs and stuffs them in his helmet vents in the hopes that they will look like laurels (nobody tell him that they don't!) whenever he gets home there's usually a brother telling him to take them out again, though.

Greetings and Salutations.
Lord, if i may beg a moment of your time.
I am one of those tasked to conduct a study on the recruitment efforts of the past. As such i seek audience amongst those of the esteemed Lords whom would have been admitted within the chapter within the last century.
From those reccords of your admittance first into the chapter as an aspirant, I am given to understand that you, Lord, also had been born and raised upon Maccrage herself, and as such would undoubtedly have grown upon just such propaganda for recruitment as her populace would expect to encounter this day.
Amongst those of the esteemed Lords whom had posed as subjects for the recruitment efforts, was there a particluar individual or select group that you had found yourself drawn to the most, and if so what aspects of them were it that drew you in.
Further, should you, Lord, have interacted with any of those individuals, either in passing or if indeed for any length of time, how did your expectations, and preconceived notions of off their esteemed person differed from the reality of it.
I am actually from Talassar! But you are quite right, I was brought up with the many recruitment efforts of the Ultramarines as a common and constant part of my early life. This was very exciting, whenever we would be on shore I would go and pick up their flyers and posters to decorate my bedroom wall. I do not wish to disrespect the Void Tridents, they are a noble chapter, but to me the Ultramarines were always the highest goal. Being, as I said, from Talassar, the face I would see most often on the ultramarine flyers would be Cato Sicarius, who hails from the same planet, and sometimes Marneus Calgar, renowned for mobilising the first company to save Talassar. Both are men of great renown that I have always respected greatly. I have not had the honour to meet either of them personally. Frankly, they probably have more important things to do than to socialise with lower ranking brothers.
