The guys from Top Gear are here to wish @quistie64 a Happy Birthday
I was tagged by quistie64 for the first 10 songs on my iPod thing, so here we go, a couple days late. I can't think of who I want to tag for this, so if you feel like doing it, go for it!
1.Whole Again- All Night Chemists
2. Don't Stop Me Now- Queen
3. 1st Things 1st- Phantom Planet
4. Friday I'm In Love- The Cure
5. My Absent Will- Meredith Bragg
6. Daddy's Gone- Glasvegas
7. Down River- The Temper Trap
8. Honey Come Home- The Head and the Heart
9. Blue Beard- Band of Horses
10. Cruel and Beautiful World- Grouplove
Like my iPod, this is a pretty good mix of 80s music and songs from Chuck. Throw in a little more jazz, Vampire Weekend, and some of my workout playlist and that's all I need!
Castle just got renewed, apparently. quistie64 I am laughing at your pain.
quistie64 said: Lovely story. Mine is similar when we moved to Colorado from California. It was my mom who said to me, “You need to do what’s best for your family.”
Thanks quistie. I wanted to get this one right and I can't tell you how many drafts I started for this on. My wife read every new attempt with a frown and a shake of the head. This one, got the full Sheila smile of approval.
Thanks so much for the feedback.
This is My Song Story and I'm sticking to it: Somewhere Alone
Let me just start off by saying Happy Birthday, quistie!
Okay, got that out of the way.
So the initial plan for my very small contribution to this epic celebration of your awesomeness, was to write you another rhyming review of SOM2, much like I had for the first story (I don’t know if you remember that or not). But then I realized that SOM2 is like four million times longer than the first story, and it would probably take until I was 50 to write it. So instead I wracked my brain for something else to do.
I’ll be honest, there’s not much up there, so it was a bit of a struggle. I mean, I could talk about how you are awesome and generous and creative and funny and cool, but I don’t think I will. I could also talk about how much you’ve contributed to the Chuck fandom, and more importantly, my entertainment and enjoyment. But I don’t think I’ll do that either. Lastly, I could mention how you are an awesome friend (and how much you love Friends) and it’s been a pleasure to know you and interact with you over the intertubes (and see your obsession with In-N-Out unfold). That just doesn’t seem enough, though, so probably not gonna do that either.
Instead, I think I’ll just say Happy Birthday, you punk-ass book jockey.
