WIP Snip: "Quit, Commit, See If We'd Fit."
They had one rule as a household: any first dates with strangers were had at Murray’s.
It didn’t matter how long you’d been talking to someone on apps, if you’d already been on video calls, if you met them in person first, or if you were reconnecting after years of friendship. You still went to Murray’s so someone could step in if their date turned out to be a creep or an escape plan was needed.
The process hadn’t failed them yet.
Of course, it helped that the restaurant was just nice enough to be a decent first date spot without breaking the bank… and if the date ended up shit, at least they knew they were getting a good meal and their discount out of it.
“Hey, you’re meeting someone tonight right?” Eddie yawned, rolling up the sleeves of his black button up and pulling his hair into a loose and horrifically askew ponytail while Robin brushed her teeth beside him, “That girl from the salon?”
She hummed back, batting his hands away and fixing his hair before he could stop her, speaking around her toothbrush with a quick nod, “Yesh - Bickee. T’ginger.”
“Ooh - Angelic Molly Ringwald herself! It sure took you long enough to ask her out, didn’t it?” He couldn’t help but tease, knocking into her gently, “You’ve been pining for months - I’m kind of surprised Steve didn’t ask her out for you.”
Robin spit into the sink and let out a rough but loving sigh, “Yeah, well… if he loses his hairdresser because I fuck this up, that’s on him.”
“It’ll be fine, you’ll be fine; and if you’re not, we’ll be there.”
