hey all! Here’s a slightly neater, partially colored in version of the Quoisey from last week. Probably shouldn’t have tried to make this neater while my hands were shaking but whattya gonna do. 

Also I have no fuckin Idea how her spear is ever gonna work. Pls help me. please.

Responsibility (WIP)

So here’s what I’ve gotten done so far of Quoisey’s redesign. A friend re-brought up the idea of giving her a weapon that can be used both as a spear and like the dual-wielding type of swords, so that’s why the handles are there. I’m still trying to figure out how to give her a weapon that’s unique and cool (not to mention distinguishable from Ellise’s sword) and yet not like ridiculously anime.

In other news, she looks really swol in this and I feel like I wanna play with that, especially because her design has always been in the vein of ‘elegant warrior’ (I mean she had ballet slippers fgs) 

more to come (plus some character analysis on Ellise because lbr we’ve done next to nothing on her. Also BOTF with more solidified names and maybe I’ll figure out the timelines)

A break from the shays - here’s Witch!Maxie and Pixie!Quoisey. Also, is it just me or does sidesaddle seem way more practical (not to mention comfortable) for riding broomsticks?

Mirror Image

A slight interruption in posting “Cubone and Mama” because I listened to “Here comes a Thought” by Rebecca Sugar and was really inspired to make a thing. Also, I’ve been reconsidering how Quoisey and Maxine’s relationship actually affects WtA.

What I realised is that the themes of the story affect them in very similar but different ways. The death of Maxie’s mom is the root cause, and both have severe self esteem issues, but from different sources. Both having their moms live vicariously through them (one mom literally) is a burden neither can escape 

In getting to know one another, each realises their struggle in the other, and thus embrace it.

Also I realised that their relationship might have to be a bit more slow-burn than I had originally planned, seeing as that sort of relationship between fae and mage would be frowned upon (especially if it garnered no children with which to continue the bloodline)

But I feel like they would get together unofficially when they went to the faerie realm, and officially when Quoisey finally stood up to her mom.

So I think that Quoisey and Teller would actually be pretty good pals, given that they’re the more mythic mythics in this friend group and both had to come from a different realm to get to human territory. Plus, they both would have to find ways of hiding their ears. Quoisey is pretty new to the human dimension, so she is also new to the separation of human from mythic, or the distinction of mythics, because witches are the only ones capable of accessing the faerie realm. Teller, on the other hand, has been coming to and from the human world for long periods of time during her life and is therefore more informed.
