i wanna say this as your friend but as an aro/ace lady it kinda just rubbed me the wrong way "heterosexual identifying ace/aro people" there are aro/ace people in het relationships but that doesn't make them heterosexual. i have a friend who we just figured out is aro/ace who has only ever been in het relationships, and the amount of distress involved in figuring it out really took its toll on her because she 'wasn't queer enough'. just a thought, i didnt mean to sound rude at all
you dont sound rude in any way, and i appreciate you messaging me! sorry if my answer wasnt clear enough, i was trying to refer specifically to people who place themselves on the ace/aro spectrum while also identifying as “straight”, as a number of my friends and acquaintances do, – definitely NOT the ace/aro community as a whole. i tried to word it as appropriately as i could with heterosexual identifying ace/aro people, as not to imply that asexual people are heterosexual on their own in any way! who you are in relationships with NEVER determines your sexuality or gender preference, and im sorry if the way i explained things implied anything otherwise !!

It’s been crazy this summer, filled with ups and downs. She is one of the best people in my life. She’s been there for me through thick and thin, and always letting me know how much she loves me. She can make me laugh, she can make me smile, she brings me joy every single day I have a chance to talk with her. Every conversation with her helps me get through a day. There are too many days were I want to kiss her and hold her, but I know it will come. For now, I’m just happy that I have her, and she has me, and that won’t change anytime soon.
