Our most Noble Nabi ﷺ passed a young Sahaabi ‏رضي الله تعالى عنه while he was reciting the following verse of the Quran:

“Then, when the sky is cleft open and turns red like ointment”

{Surah Rahman}

When he recited this verse, he paused, his body was covered in goose bumps and he started crying so profusely that he started choking on his tears. As he cried, he kept saying, “What will happen to me on the day the sky is cleft open?”

Hearing his emotional crying, Rasoolullaah ﷺ said: “O’ young man! I take an oath on the Being ﷻ who controls my life that even the angels began to cry.”

O’ son of Adam,

have you forgotten that you were once nothing more than a clot of blood

or do you assume that you will remain in your current state, never to return to the earth?
