Qed-her, “she who turns her head backwards”, one of the three guardians of the second gate in Chapter 144 of the Book of the Dead, as portrayed in the tomb of Nefertari. The guardians were given different names and appearances in different versions of the chapter; for example, in Ramesses II’s temple at Abydos this guardian has a ram’s head and a different name, and a different guardian, at the sixth gate, has a similar look.
