The laboratory used to be a terrifying place, rumors passed in whispers about the torture that happened behind the closed doors. With peculiar interest he managed to find its way there, where he found the purpose he spent his life searching for. Ace's the front side of the coin, trapped in a precise balancing act between what his boss wants, and what his boss needs. And he couldn't be happier.

Ace, or The Argent Soaring Nebula Over Forty Nine Legions Unified For The Third Lord's Banner, alongside the scientist, are the quiet backbone of that team I sometimes occasionally mention, and you can see in the tags. The research department, the two of them work on things that the public doesn't really get to know.

The scientist was done first, with the clear idea that it would be the sort of person you genuinely wouldn't want to meet. The only thing it cares about is its research, and it only stays as part of that team because the leader lets it do that.

Ace was made to be the explicit perfect match for the scientist - friendly, outgoing, kind, character-wise everything it is not, but sharing the same deep passion for biology and being somehow even more stubborn about it at times. [The name thing is also obvious - the scientist has no name, only titles; Ace's name is fourteen words that would make a rain world ancient BLUSH from their fanciness. "Ace" is just a convenient nickname because TASNO49---- didn't fit the system.]

And so he's working away, learning and studying, while also making sure the reputation of both laboratory and its boss is slowly restored. To a degree, at least. A labcoat to be more personable [and also because labcoats are cool], a smile, always some advice. Ace knows what he's doing!

And he is truly, genuinely, happy.

[by the way, they both are physiologists. Scientist also focuses in neurology, while Ace's side passion is a study I made up considering the world of pokemon - bioenergy, the effect of type energies on living things]

A friend had some mental blockades in terms of making his own sona, he tried once and didn't come out how he wanted it / how others have been doing their own somehow this activated my neurons enough to draw these =]

express yourself the way you want to express yourself! don't worry if you're weird or don't fit any idealised perceptions - you're you. and that's the best thing you can be.

Shakujo sure seems to have interesting sleeping habits. It's astonishing his spine still functions properly.

- I can't believe he's comfortable. - Shoulda seen him yesterday.

Fissure with a coffee cup is a very familiar sight around the base, the flygon has one method on going through the days and that is it. It's somehow less weird than Shakujo, who finds comfort in the strangest positions... although seems Disglair is taking things in stride. He's got a book to read, some hakamo-o ain't gonna throw him off of that.

I would elaborate more but it's 3:30 am and I am tired and also I don't want to get into the whole setting quite yet, lemme post my goobers =]

Wu of Dawn's Boundary

Unfrozen, reintegrating. Ancestral trauma dug deep, yet there is always warmth awaiting at the Dawn's Boundary.

"My name is Wu, sir. How may I help you tonight?"

Wu's been a character I was working on for last, oh, year. More than that, actually. A Kyurem that abandoned the icy visage, that tries to be proper. The dragon. Past cannot be abandoned or ignored, yet perhaps the future can still hold some pride.

I have three kyurem characters, and they're all dealing with ancestral trauma of the original Kyurem [who split apart, and was the cause of a major civil war] in their own ways. Wicked gave in fully to it, being miserable in a cave. Raic, who was around here before, tries to ignore it and find his own meaning in life, separate to the trauma. And finally Wu, who has truly made peace with his past, and found pride in who he has always been.

I really like Wu as a character. He's wise, he's helpful, he truly desires someone to be there for him. If he can be around people, he prospers and overcomes his issues; leave him alone for too long and he's visibly withering away. And so, he found a job in a very people-focused place, he has his own bar so he's forced to interact with strangers day by day. He's forced to thaw the chains of misery.

He's not really doing this on his own, either. He had someone, a particularly powerful creature who made a pokemon-friendly city, kick his ass out of solitude twice. Maybe I'll get more into detail on the city, and its unusual owner... but not in this post.

His bar is an unusual place. It opens only at night, and biggest part of it is a giant basking spot with caves. Wu intends the place to be for those pokemon who need a bit of warmth to get through cold nights. Constantly high temperature of the place caused him to lose his own ice [but only temporarily! Wu does refreeze if it gets too cold!] but he's more than okay with that. He needs not to be punished further.

So there's that. Wu. The iceless Kyurem. And straight up one of my favourite OCs I have ever made. He's a joyful fella.

I have FINALLY codified my pokesona.

For the longest time, the only thing about my pokesona that was certain was "eye ridges are sharp. Not the typical droplet shape." The bag was also around because, well, I like messenger bags, they're super handy.

Everything else kind of started forming as I was drawing. wave frill ends? yeh. looplet? originally was a regular bracelet but then i remembered looplets exist and i was like..... fuck yeah

the adventuring rope? well in d&d rope is a default thing, so figured it would be a cool thing to add! I did want a tailbag, but figured that with my messenger bag it was kinda pointless, so tail rope instead.

the diamond patterns on thighs? i like diamonds as a shape, and it felt like a nice easy way to diversify too. I mean, the typical /\/\/ pattern feels similarly arbitrary. So I got two, or something.

Did I forget to draw in the mouth on the smaller pic? Maybe. Did I forget to do the slots for emeras darker? Perhaps. Are those minor enough that I don't care? Absolutely.

the sexy line was the chest btw, i had to erase it a bit because bag and hand but... the chest is still there in general i am SUPER proud of this one it looks so heckin good.
